The Africa Rice Congress 2010 will bring together stakeholders from the
public and private sector, civil society organizations, farmer organizations and
research and extension communities that have a stake in the development of
Africa’s rice sector.
The objectives of the Congress are to:

Assess advances in rice science and technology aimed at improving rice
productivity while preserving environmental services and coping with climate
change

Assess advances in rice science and technology aimed at increasing grain
quality and adding value from seed to plate

Identify partnerships, institutional innovations and services to enhance
the competitiveness of value chains and promote equitable sharing.

Identify effective policy instruments and investments for the sustainable
development of Africa’s rice sector
