Emmanuel Owusu-Bennoah

Emmanuel Owusu-Bennoah is formerly the Director General of the Ghanaian Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), a publicly funded research organization consisting of 13 mission-oriented research institutes. CSIR is mandated to provide expert advice to the Ghanaian Government on issues of policy related to agricultural technologies, industry and health. Dr. Owusu-Bennoah has since retired from CSIR and is Professor of Soil Science at the College of Agriculture of the University of Ghana-Legon.

Professor Owusu-Bennoah is a graduate of the University of Reading in the UK, where he obtained a PhD in Soil Science. He joined the WARDA Board in April 2004.

He brings a lot of NARS experience to the WARDA Board having served as a member of the WARDA National Experts Committee for many years, as Chair of CORAF/WECARD and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA). He is member of the International Soil Science Society and a reviewer for the Australian Journal of Soil Science.

Professor Owusu-Bennoah is married with three children.
