Momodou Ceesay Momodou Ceesay is Proprietor and Managing Director of the Gambia Horticultural Enterprises (GHE) Ltd, an agribusiness private company involved in the export of tropical and off-season fresh vegetables and fruits to Europe and the marketing of horticultural inputs (e.g., seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, garden tools and equipment). He joined the WARDA Board in March 2008 and contributes a private sector perspective to the Board. Mr. Ceesay’s educational background is in Horticulture. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticultural technology from Queensland Agricultural College, Australia, and a Master of Science degree in Horticultural Science from Massey University, New Zealand He has accumulated a vast amount of private sector experience in Agribusiness having worked previously as General Manager of Citroproducts Gambia before setting up his own company. He has horticultural research experience having been Head of the Horticulture Section of the Gambian Department of Agriculture. Mr. Ceesay has completed several consultancies on vegetable and fruit marketing for the World Bank. He is currently Chair of the Board of the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) of Gambia. Mr. Ceesay is married with four children. Contact details
