Gaston Grenier

Gaston Grenier is a Canadian national who joined the WARDA Board in 2004. He has served as Board Chair and as Chair of the Audit Committee.

He has brought his vast donor experience to the Board, from many years of service at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Before his retirement, he served CIDA in many capacities (e.g., Director General of the Africa Branch overseeing the Sahel, Benin and Cote d’Ivoire, Team Leader of the natural resource support program in Honduras, Director of the CIDA Agriculture Sector and Deputy Director General of CIDA Professional Services, Central America). He was also Director General of the International Institute of Scientific Research for Development in Africa (IIRSDA), which had the mission of promoting the use of biotechnology in Sub-Saharan African countries.

Mr. Grenier holds a degree in agricultural engineering from Laval University, Quebec, and a degree in Business Administration from the University of Quebec, Canada.
