Participation
The conference is planned to take place in Cotonou, Benin, 1-4 October 2007.
The conference is open to all those who are interested in the mitigation and
prevention of the impacts of HIV/AIDS on agriculture in Africa in general and in
West Africa in particular. Policy makers and front-line practitioners in
HIV/AIDS and food security mitigation programs from research, development, donor
community, civil society, are especially invited to attend.
Call for Abstracts
To take part in the Conference, interested participants are requested to first
submit an abstract that will be assessed for acceptance by the publication
committee of the Conference. Authors of abstracts that are accepted will be duly
invited to develop full papers.
Guidelines for Abstract:
The abstract should:
-
be short: 200-250 words in a single paragraph
-
be complete in itself (it can be published
separately in secondary outlets) describes the objective of research, its
scope; the methods used, the main results with any new observations, the
main conclusions and their significance
-
contain all the key words (written at the
foot of the resume) for indexation of the paper.
The abstract should not contain:
-
references to tables or figures, which are
only included in the paper itself
-
abbreviations or acronyms unless they are
standard or explained

abstracts must be submitted by 15 June 2007

A conference poster session is also planned. Interested participants who would
like to present their work in progress can submit posters (size A1 - portrait).
Funding
Limited funding is available to support the travel and accommodation costs of
one presenter, depending on institutional affiliation. The organizers strongly
encourage participants who are willing to self-sponsor.
